For Organizations
You have a strong vision and a dedicated team, but you need more money to hire and keep staff, more clarity to respond to today’s demands and pressures, and more information to help you make progress toward your organization’s goals.
We can help!
We are your data champions, bringing our extensive experience and new perspectives. We work closely with and for you to:
- Create a logic model or theory of change that will help you tell your staff, your board, your funders, and your community what your vision, priorities, and key strategies are.
- Develop systems, tools, and an evaluation framework tailored for your organization’s culture and capacity to support your program, fund development, and communication goals.
- Gather and analyze important stories about your work and impact, as well as the numbers (both qualitative and quantitative data).
- Build your internal evaluation capacity and sustainable learning culture, through workshops, coaching, and personalized support.
- Report findings in shareable, user-friendly reports or presentations.

Forward Together
Case Study
We provided evaluation and learning culture-building services for Forward Together, a nonprofit organization that works to shift cultural norms and narratives about bodily autonomy and reproductive justice, during the course of three evaluation projects:
Leadership Development: The Stepping into Power leadership development program brought organizational executives together to deepen community with one another and gain personal, interpersonal, organizational, and movement-building skills. Forward Together wanted to document and share data and case studies about the impact of participation on the leaders who participated, their organizations, and their networks.
We:
- Reviewed curriculum materials, analyzed several years of survey data.
- Conducted in-depth interviews with staff and participants.
- Delivered a report with case studies that clearly showed the short- and longer-term impacts of the program and recommendations for building a new version.
Community Organizing and Advocacy: We were invited to research, evaluate, and tell the story of Strong Families New Mexico—now an independent organization—a community-led program that offers leadership development trainings and support; civic engagement campaigns; and training, resources, and logistical support for legislative advocacy to create state and local policies that work for New Mexico’s families. In close collaboration with program staff, Radiance conducted a retrospective and impact evaluation to trace factors and milestones related to SFNM’s inception and development.
We:
- Conducted a materials review of the program’s inception and operation over the past 12 years.
- Conducted staff interviews and group discussions.
- Facilitated participatory community-based evaluation sessions—Ripple Effects Mapping (REM)—with community partner organizations and activists.
- Developed a report telling the story of the program’s first 12 years, with data about individual and systems impacts, participant and partner perceptions, lessons learned, and recommendations for the program’s future.
Organizational Evaluation Culture-Building: Radiance developed a workshop and coaching curriculum to support the organization’s staff in integrating evaluative thinking into its transformative work. Our work together was grounded in community oriented and participatory evaluation strategies to build internal capacity and develop a strategic learning stance to support the organization’s life-changing, community-centered work.
We:
- Conducted exploratory interviews with staff and leadership to learn about current learning practices and how deeper evaluation culture could support their mission-driven work.
- Designed and led a series of small group learning experiences, one-on-one conversations, and exploratory/practice assignments to help staff build knowledge and interest in evaluation.
- Gave feedback and support on surveys and other evaluation practices staff developed.
- Designed an evaluation framework to help staff align planning and evaluation with their strategic plan and theory of change.
As a result of our partnership with Forward Together on these three projects, staff now talk about evaluation at the beginning of planning meetings, share our reports and content with funders and community activists, and have implemented new evaluation practices to learn and communicate about their impact.
